| Day Skipper Theory | 5 Days | None | This course is designed for beginners. Most participants on this course would attend with the view to go on and complete the practical part of the course. Those who wish to obtain advanced powerboat certification or wish to become a powerboat instructor would be required to have knowledge to the level of day skipper. The course syllabus includes nautical terms, rope work, anchoring, safety equipment and procedures, collision regulations, navigation, compass variation and deviation, chart work, tides and tidal stream, visual aids to navigation, meteorology, passage planning, pilotage and the marine environment. | There will be a written exam at the end of the course.
