Powerboat Level I/II 2 Days None This course covers all aspects of powerboating. The course syllabus will include the preparation of the boat for sea, close quarters boat handling, mooring, coming and leaving alongside, man overboard techniques, collision regulations, an introduction to navigation, pilotage and high speed manoeuvring. Able to handle a powerboat in familiar waters by day. This course is recognised by the MCA as a tender license for those who wish to use this course to obtain certification to work on a super yacht where tender driving may be involved. 465 euros
Powerboat Intermediate 2 Days Competent to the standard of Powerboat Level II with coastal endorsement. It is also highly recommended that participants hold their VHF and First Aid Certificates. This course is designed to cover modern navigational techniques and how they work alongside more traditional methods. The course syllabus will include daytime navigation, passage planning and the use of plotting instruments. Whilst on the water we will get familiar with GPS and electronic navigation equipment. A coastal passage will be conducted towards the end of the course. Able to navigate a powerboat on costal passages by day. Intermediate and Advanced Powerboat courses will be run by an advanced instructor who has a sound knowledge of the local area. 495 euros
Powerboat Advanced 2 Days Boat handling capabilities to the standard of Powerboat Intermediate and knowledge of navigation and chart work to the level of Day Skipper Shore-based. It is required that participants hold a valid first aid certificate and their VHF Operators License. This course is designed for leisure and professional boaters wanting to undertake more advanced trips. The course syllabus will include navigation by day and night using traditional and modern methods, rough water handling, man over board techniques including sector search and further aspects of skippering a small boat on more challenging passages. Able to navigate a powerboat on coastal passages by day and by night. Participants wishing to drive chase boats or large tenders may wish to commercially endorse their certificate. This will involve a further practical exam lasting 4-5 hours. 510 euros
Direct Assessment for Powerboat Level I/II 1 Day The equivalent to at least 6 months powerboating experience is required. Students will be required to demonstrate a sound knowledge of both the practical and theoretical elements of the powerboat level II syllabus. Able to handle a powerboat in familiar waters by day. Please note this is not an informative course and will depend heavily on the participants current knowledge of powerboating. It is at the instructors’ discretion as to whether this is a suitable option depending on the experience of the participant. 245 euros
Own Boat Tuition Varies None, the aim of own boat tuition is to give a personalised tuition tailored to your specific needs. Courses are structured in a way that will allow you to achieve your own goals. Own boat tuition is aimed at giving you the confidence to know that you can look after yourself, your passengers, follow the rules and regulations of the water and maximize the use and enjoyment of your own boat. You can enjoy both practical and theory elements of teaching and of course benefit from learning your new skills on your very own vessel. Own boat tuition can be offered on both powerboats and cruising vessels. Depending on the type and duration of training the appropriate level of certification may be awarded. Please discuss these options with us to help establish the correct level of training for you. Own Boat tuition can be offered to participants worldwide and either on a one to one basis or in a group of up to three people. It is a fun option to invite a couple of friends or relatives along to enjoy the experience. POA
International Certificate of Competence ICC 1 Day Varies, there are two options available to obtain your ICC.

Option 1 – You will be required to complete the ICC test. This option is similar to the direct assessment in the sense that you will be required to demonstrate a sound knowledge of seamanship, you will be tested on both practical and theoretical elements of powerboating and will be expected to be of powerboat Level II standard or higher.

Option 2 – Submit a copy of your RYA certification i.e. Powerboat Level II, Day Skipper or higher to the RYA and they will issue you with your ICC. Please contact us for the appropriate application form or visit the RYA website www.rya.org.

International Certificate of Competence for vessels up to 10 meters or up to 24m depending on certification held. The RYA states that “The ICC is only available to British citizens, or bona fide British residence, using British flagged vessels overseas. Evidence of British residency will be required from non-citizens.” “Other countries may accept the ICC for their native flagged vessel.” POA
