Ideally located in the Port du Golfe-Juan we are at the very heart of the cote d’Azur, just a stones throw away from the famous yachting hub of Antibes and round the corner from the beautiful bay of Cannes.

Course Description

This course has been designed to bridge the gap between the Dayskipper qualification and the Yachtmaster offshore certificate. Although the syllabus of this course may look similar to that of the Dayskipper you can expect to cover all of these course topics in far more depth giving you the knowledge and skills to carry out more complex passages over longer distances, including night navigation.

During this course you will plan and execute your own passages, learn how to handle the boat in rougher conditions, offshore navigation techniques including navigation in reduced visibility, understanding the weather forecast and preparing your boat for sea. Upon successful completion of this course you will be awarded your RYA Coastal Skipper course completion certificate. Should you wish to commercially endorse your certificate you will be required to take a further 1 day exam.

Pre Course Requirements

All students embarking on this course should have covered 15 days at sea, 2 of which as skipper, 8 night hours and 300 sea miles.

Pre Exam Requirements (optional for those who wish to commercially endorse their certificate)

To complete the Coastal Skipper exam you will need to have completed your VHF SRC, hold a valid First Aid Certificate and either the Yachtmaster Coastal course completion certificate plus; 20 days at sea, 2 as skipper, 12 night hours and 400 sea miles or 30 days at sea, 2 as skipper, 12 night hours and 800 sea miles.
