With our specially selected teaching base and our professionally run courses you can expect to experience the very best of yachting on the French Riviera. Ideally located in the Port du Golfe-Juan we are at the very heart of the cote d’Azur, just a stones throw away from the famous yachting hub of Antibes and round the corner from the beautiful bay of Cannes.

Course Description

This course marks the beginning of the RYA Motor Cruising scheme and is aimed at those of you who are looking for a basic introduction to boating. This course will teach you safe boat handling, emergency procedures whilst onboard and some useful navigation techniques.

Here at Riviera Sea School we have taken time to ensure that this course is not only fun and enjoyable but will give you the opportunity to practice your skills and new found knowledge in a safe and reassuring environment. Due to the local area we also dedicate some time during this course to helping you understand a few aspect of boating we find useful here in France, Mediterranean mooring techniques for example. You will also be given the chance to plan and navigate a few short coastal passages giving us all a few moments to take in some of the Cote d’Azurs most beautiful harbours and popular anchorage spots.

Included in your Helmsman course fee are administration and certification costs along with all of your course materials including fuel and wet weather gear if required (often extras at other schools).

Pre Course Requirements – None! All beginners are welcome on this course.
