Ideally located in the Port du Golfe-Juan we are at the very heart of the cote d’Azur, just a stones throw away from the famous yachting hub of Antibes and round the corner from the beautiful bay of Cannes.

Course Description

The Dayskipper practical course is one of our most popular courses in the RYA Motor Cruising scheme. This course is ideal for those new to boating looking for a sound understanding of boat handling, navigation and seamanship or for those who have gained some boating experience but would like to develop and improve on their current skills. This course is also a popular avenue for those wishing to apply for their International Certificate of Competence (ICC) up to 24m.

During this course you will be given a great deal of time behind the wheel exercising your boat handling. In addition the course syllabus includes all aspects of planning and executing passages, charts and tides, pilotage, use of the GPS and chartplotters and an introduction to radar. You will be given the chance to take the boat out at night and there will be plenty of opportunity to address safety onboard and practice your man overboard techniques.

Included in your Dayskipper Practical course fee are administration, certification and examination costs along with all of your course materials including fuel and wet weather gear if required (often extras at other schools).

Pre Course Requirements

Ideally we would like our students to have some knowledge of basic seamanship and navigation before moving on to this qualification. If you are unsure about your current knowledge please feel free to contact us to discuss your experience prior to booking onto this course.
