ABOUT RIVIERA SEA SCHOOL

Sam Kemble-Taylor
Principal

Sam Kemble-Taylor is the founder and Principal of Riviera Sea School as well as being the Chief Instructor for the powerboat scheme. Sam comes from a yachting background having worked aboard Luxury Yachts both here in the Mediterranean and the other side of the Atlantic. He holds his 200gt Captains License and is an Advanced Power-boat and Jet-Ski Instructor, VHF Assessor and Cruise Instructor.

Sam is originally from the UK and has travelled all over the world before settling here in the South of France. He attended University in London where he completed a Bachelors Degree in Business Management.

His future commitments are to continue the success of Riviera Sea School providing the highest of standards in training and excellence in customer service.

 

Gwilym Evans
Chief Instructor

Gwilym is Riviera Sea School’s Chief Instructor for Shorebased Courses. He is a Yachtmaster Ocean Instructor, Power and Sail and has been instructing and examining the RYA Scheme for over 20 years. He has a wealth of knowledge in boating and yacht training and has completed many successful Atlantic crossings.

 

Nicola Maxwell
Training Coordinator

Nicola ensures that Riviera Sea School runs like clockwork. She is definitely the most efficient and organised of the team. She has sailed most of the East Coast of America having worked on the Luxury Yachts but now has her feet firmly on the ground since becoming shore-based here in the South of France. She has spent the last couple of years working closely with prospective and experienced crewmembers of all levels in one of Antibes Crew Agencies and has become an invaluable asset to Riviera Sea School.

 

Max
Mascot/Marketing

Last but not least of course is the Schools Mascot come Marketing Manager Max our extremely devoted and overly loving Golden Labrador. Out of all of us Max definitely has the greatest love for the water often abandoning ship whenever he feels like a dip.

He has cruised much of the French Riviera joining us on a fair few of our Powerboat Trips and has built up a great rapport with the locals having spent the first couple of years of his life meeting and greeting crew in one of Antibes Crew Agencies.
